Michelle Brechon, CNM, is our Certified Nurse Midwife, specializing in healthcare for women of all ages, including pregnant women. Michelle cares for women throughout their lifetimes, helping them with preventive care, managing chronic health conditions, sexual health, and menopause. As a certified nurse midwife, prenatal pregnancy care is her focus area.
“I am really about whole family care,” said Michelle. “From teenagers to older women, plus I love to see my patients return yearly to our clinic after delivering their babies at the hospital.”
Michelle has over 25 years of experience caring for women’s health, including caring for Hmong and Somali immigrant patients.
It’s interesting to know that Certified Nurse Midwives are highly educated and trained to care for women’s health and prenatal care. A CNM is typically a Registered Nurse with a Masters or PhD in women’s health. Certified Nurse Midwives can prescribe medications and care for women dealing with some chronic conditions such as depression, anxiety, or thyroid disorders.
In her work with pregnant women, Michelle has had some success helping women who have experienced common ailments of pregnancy such as morning sickness, constipation, etc, using herbal therapy, homeopathy and aromatherapy.
