Medical Director

United Family Medicine has an immediate opening for a Full Time Physician to work in our Federally Qualified Health Center as a Medical Director and primary care physician. This position will work various day and evening hours until 8:00 pm.      

The Medical Director will lead, coordinate and provide clinical oversight for all clinical and family medicine services of United Family Medicine, including Behavioral Health, Optometry dental, and all contracted medical services at United Family Medicine (UFM) and United Family Medicine Sibley. As a member of the clinic’s leadership team, the medical director will serve as an ex-officio member of the United Family Medicine board. The Medical Director also serves as a clinical provider. The Medical Director will establish, implement and maintain the highest standards of professional medical care for the patients at United Family Medicine.

United Family Medicine (the Clinic) is Federally Qualified Health Center/Clinic (“FQHC or Clinic”) with long standing ties to the West Seventh Street/Fort Road Community. The services of the Clinic are readily available to low income, uninsured and insured people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. It is our goal to make the Clinic an exceptional place for patients and staff.

Our Clinic hosts the teaching site of the United Family Medicine Residency Program which is part of a separate organization, United Hospital.

The Clinic provides the clinical experience necessary as part of the resident training of new Family Physicians. Residents practice under the supervision of the Clinic’s medical staff and other teaching physicians. This program is approved for 21 residency positions and offers specialized clinical training and education in family medicine. The residents are committed to providing the same excellent community-oriented family medicine that the Clinic patients have grown to expect.

We function as a team in our efforts to ensure that the Clinic provides quality patient care with caring, concerned physicians and support staff.  

Qualifications/Experience needed

  • Medical school graduate
  • 5-10 years of patient care experience working in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Public Health required- preferably in community clinic setting
  • At least 2 years of leadership in a medical clinic or similar organization

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Current licensure within the State
  • Maintains a current DEA number
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State

Experience working with the Epic/Excellian system preferred but not required

CMA/RMA or LPN

Job Description: United Family Medicine has an immediate opening for a Full Time LPN or CMA/RMA (Certified / Registered Medical Assistant) to work days and evenings between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm and occasional Saturdays from 8am to 12pm at our large Family Practice Clinic.  UFM is also a teaching site for the United Family Medicine Residency Program.

Position Details: Permanent Full Time position available. Some Evening hours and Saturdays required. Starting date: A.S.A.P. Salary: Depends on Experience.

Responsibilities:  Rooming patients including taking vital signs, history, and preparing patient and equipment to be seen by the provider. Performs routine procedures including ekgs, audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, TB skin tests, Spirometry and assisting with minor surgery and other procedures. Administers medications and vaccinations per provider order.

Qualifications:  Candidates should be an LPN preferably three to five years of clinical or related nursing experience or a CMA/RMA, new graduates encouraged to apply.  Prefer ambulatory care experience. American Heart Association BLS certification, RMA/CMA certification. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Additional Information:  Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time. Some bending, stooping and stretching. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment.

Triage RN

The hours for this position are:    Monday  through Thursday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm

This position will manage all patient triage over the telephone.  Coordinate and collaborate with the Provider Teams, RN’s, Appointment Schedulers to resolve patient calls appropriately based on patient needs.  Provide follow up calls; take messages and document in the Electronic Medical Record as needed.  This could also include tracking paperwork and messages to monitor and maintain workflow and assure acuity needs are met.

Advanced Practitioner

United Family Medicine has an immediate opening for a .8 Physician Assistant (C-PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to work in our Federally Qualified Health Center on West 7th Street. This position will work various daytime hours and at least two evenings per week until 8:00 pm along with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications/Experience needed

1-3 years of patient care experience following completion of a Master of Physician Assistant school or Master in Family Nurse Practitioner. Medical experience in an outpatient family medical clinic including pediatrics, obstetrical/gynecological, medical care and non-emergency care preferred. 

A permanent current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Minnesota.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current licensure within the State
  • Master lever in Family Practice
  • Maintains a current medication dispensing license (DEA Number)
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State

LICENSED DENTAL ASSISTANT (FULL TIME)

MISSION

 JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform chair-side assisting of dentist, clinical support services and assigned related work under the direct supervision of the Dental Director and Dental Manager.

 Essential Functions:

  • Assist dentist chair side during patient procedures within the scope of general dentistry using four handed delivery techniques.
  • Proficient in taking clinically diagnostic digital X-rays, and maintain equipment as outlined in the safety and radiation manual.
  • Sterilize, disinfect and maintain instruments and operations according to OSHA and clinic protocols.
  • Perform daily start-up and close-down procedures in operatory rooms and lab.
  • Set-up and clean-up operatory rooms, materials, and equipment needed for dental procedures
  • Take patient vitals and record in chart.
  • Accurately chart results of oral exam as instructed by provider.
  • Perform child prophylaxis, fluoride treatment and place sealants.
  • Take alginate impressions, pour and trim models and prepare cases for outside lab.
  • Monitor nitrous oxide administered by provider.
  • Perform oral hygiene instructions.
  • Handle and dispose of infectious and hazardous waste according to clinic protocols.
  • Answer phone, screen calls, confirm appointments and do recall as needed.
  • Order supplies, perform inventory and inventory audits as scheduled.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to planning and workflow of dental clinic.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Dental Director.

 Competency and skills:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to details and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in four handed dentistry.
  • Understand and adhere to infection control protocol.
  • Good skills and understanding in digital x-ray exposure techniques.
  • Dentix/Dexis is a plus

  Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Maintain a current active registration in dental assisting in the state of Minnesota.
  • Current in CPR for providers.

 

Medical Coder Position

 United Family Medicine (UFM) has an immediate opening for a full time Medical Coder to work at our large family practice clinic. Candidates should be able to work independently reviewing provider documentation and adding diagnosis codes for inpatient and outpatient coding.

UFM is a large family practice clinic and teaching site for the United Family Medicine Residency Program.

5 plus years’ experience working as a certified coder in an ambulatory setting required. This position will work a combination of time in the clinic and at home.

CCS-P, CPC, or RHIT certification and current license required. Experience in compliance and education preferred. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
