Jen Larson, PA-C
“St. Paul is a special place. Working in a clinic like United Family Medicine, where I see a diverse patient population from all walks of life – this is the professional calling I have been drawn to since the beginning of my career.” These words from Jen Larson, PA-C, Physician Assistant, describe her motivation each day on behalf of patients.
Jen started her career in a community hospital in Skokie, IL. After four years in a large medical center in Houston, TX, Jen returned to her home state Minnesota at Hennepin Healthcare, the Level I Trauma Center. There, she worked in inpatient and clinical settings, in the operating room, and on the trauma inpatient floor where she specialized in orthopedic care.
With her deep experience in patient care, Jen has turned her focus to primary care, for the positive impact she can have with her patients.
“I like to put the power in the patient’s hands,” said Jen. “By treating the whole person, and not just the symptoms alone, we can make a care plan together. Then we can focus on long term preventive care. We can look for ways to prevent some diseases before they can start.”
United Family Medicine uses a medical home approach to team-base healthcare. That means we have many resources to support patients — providers like Jen can make sure patients are connected to the right resources. Resources like meeting with a community health worker, behavioral health consultant and dentistry on the same day as a medical appointment in the same building.
Jen sees patients of all ages, from children to adults. She has special interests in women’s health, and musculoskeletal issues related to bones, muscles and joints.
