That’s what you’ll find at United Family Medicine’s second annual Healthy West 7th Block Party, presented by The Language Banc, Thursday, August 17th, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at 1026 West 7th Street in Saint Paul.
“Drawing on the success of last year’s inaugural event, United Family Medicine is excited to host the second Healthy West 7th Block Party,” said Brian Nasi, CEO of UFM. “Together with neighborhood businesses and organizations, we’re committed to building and supporting the growing vibrancy and health of our unique West 7th neighborhood.”
Dunk your favorite UFM provider or staff member in the Dunk-A-Doc Dunk Tank. Find out the sugar content in everyday drinks. Enjoy musical entertainment from local bands (including our very own Dr. Tim Rumsey’s band, the Rhythm Pups). Walk through a giant super colon. Eat food from delicious local food trucks. Visit with fire fighters and fire engines at the Fire Station, free face painting and plenty of other family friendly activities.
National Health Center Week has been celebrated for more than 30 years. Early on, health centers and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) recognized the benefits of joining together to celebrate and showcase their programs and deliver a strong message nationwide for health centers and their patients. National Health Center Week provides an ideal occasion to celebrate the long record of success and delivery of high quality, cost effective, and accessible care across the nation. It is a great opportunity for health centers to speak out and tell the story of their community-based model of care, and increase public awareness of what they do and how they do it.
In celebration of National Health Center Week, United Family Medicine is throwing is a celebration for the West 7th neighborhood, celebrating all the ways our community supports leading a healthy lifestyle. Unlike other health fairs, the Healthy West 7th Block Party is bringing together businesses and organizations, highlighting all the ways the West 7th community is unique, and the ways we are working together to build a stronger, healthier community- providing opportunities to learn and engage in discussions about important topics.
