Through life experience and clinical experience, after 20 years, Sima Rad, MD, graduate of KU Medical Center, made a leap into Integrative medicine. It combines standard scientific Western medicine and heart-filled Eastern medicine, bringing the knowledge and wisdom closer together.
Integrative medicine stresses the importance of connection with self, others and nature as part of well-being, along with proper use of vitamins and healing practices.
Healing practices, such as having compassion for self and others, includes forgiveness, energy healings and methods to shed trauma. A person in a process of healing is someone with flaws and imperfections who is still able to be whole and fully functional.
Dr. Rad said, “We are all in this together. We are not broken; we are more than the sum of the pieces of our lives. We have joys, goals, and a sense of purpose. We partner with our patients to be part of their health care journey, and their life.”
Sima Rad, MD, is committed to serving in the community health setting, to cultivate joy, happiness, and a full life. She is bilingual in English and Farsi.
