CMA/RMA or LPN

job description: United Family Medicine has an immediate opening for a Full Time LPN or CMA/RMA (Certified / Registered Medical Assistant) to work days and evenings between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm and occasional Saturdays from 8am to 12pm at our large Family Practice Clinic.  Candidates who successfully complete 6 months of employment would be eligible for a one time hiring bonus of $500.00. UFM is also a teaching site for the United Family Medicine Residency Program.

position details: Permanent Full Time position available. Some Evening hours and Saturdays required. Starting date: A.S.A.P. Salary: Depends on Experience.

responsibilities:  Rooming patients including taking vital signs, history, and preparing patient and equipment to be seen by the provider. Performs routine procedures including EKGs, audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, TB skin tests, Spirometry and assisting with minor surgery and other procedures. Administers medications and vaccinations per provider order.

qualifications:  Candidates should be an LPN preferably three to five years of clinical or related nursing experience or a CMA/RMA, new graduates encouraged to apply.  Prefer ambulatory care experience. AHA  BLS certification, RMA/CMA certification. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

addition information:  Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time. Some bending, stooping and stretching. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment.

LPN/Message Taker 

job description: Triage incoming (non-symptom related) calls.  Take messages by collecting pertinent subjective and objective data.  Resolve patient questions or pass along to appropriate personnel. Delegate responsibilities as appropriate if unable to provide answers based on workflows or scope.  Make outgoing calls if necessary to contact patient with ongoing issues when appropriate.  Other duties could include, making post ED calls, completing paperwork, reviewing aged messages and other follow up patient needs.     

responsibilities: Collect pertinent information from patient over the telephone and quickly resolve issues within the scope of your practice. Assist patients in follow up care and needs from ED and hospital discharge based on a discharge report. Work incoming paperwork during the day as it comes in via mail, fax or front desk.Assist in entering paper copies of prescription refills into EMR.Proactively assisting patients in understanding processes around refill of scheduled medications.Maintain confidentiality of all employee, patient and other privileged information regarding UFPHC business activities according to HIPAA standards.Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity in the performance of job duties and other responsibilities.

qualifications/licenses/certifications: Must have EMR experience and able to navigate system quickly and efficiently.  Must be able to type a minimum of 100 WPM while speaking with the patient. Up to date AHA BLS certification. Up to date licensure from accredited institution mandatory.

skills: Working knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).  Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to utilize positive customer service skills. job description: United Family Medicine has a unique opportunity for a Spanish Speaking LPN/CMA/RMA to take on an administrative role working directly with patients over the telephone and in person. This is a Full-Time position working 8:30am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

responsibilities: Work directly with patients over the telephone to take messages and resolve clinical issues. This position will be trained to schedule, register and provide referral advocacy to complement their clinical skills. This will also include contacting patients for pre visit planning and quality initiatives.

qualifications: Ability to room patients for variety of providers as needed to understand patient needs. Experience working in a clinic preferred. Fluent in Spanish and English. Provide high quality and efficient direct patient care services including rooming patients, completing vitals, administrative duties, and customer service.

Lab Technician

job description: Full-time position working 40 hours a week that could include day, evening hours and possible weekend hours. Working in a fast pace family practice clinic obtaining blood samples from patients, processing and testing of specimens. Ages can range from infant to geriatric patients. job description:

responsibilities: Responsible for the collection, processing and testing of specimens. This job must be performed with strict adherence to the quality control and quality assurance policies of this clinic in order to provide the patients and providers with the most accurate and timely test results possible. Adherence to OSHA and CLIA (through Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, formerly known as HCFA) requirements is mandatory.

qualifications: Clinical Lab Tech I (Non-Cert): High School Diploma. Performing phlebotomy waived testing and/or moderate complexity testing. Technical experience in medical field including MA or Phleb.

Evening Medical Receptionist

Job description: United Family Medicine is a fast pace Community Clinic with a diverse population. UFM is looking for a candidate that will welcome patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Enhances patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. Eases patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties’, working with clinical staff and physicians and maintaining workspace. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

Responsibilities: Provide continuous good customer service. Check in patients, update demographic information, verify and input required data, and verification of insurance information. Collect co-pays and schedule follow up appointments using accurate visit codes. Monitor the cancellation line and make appropriate changes to provider schedules and in practice management system. Communicate cancellations and fails to the appropriate team. Makes daily appointment reminder calls. Takes accurate, legible messages and forwards to the appropriate team. Forward all symptom based calls to the triage nurse line. Work with patients and their families to obtain proper documentation, verify information, and to determine the correct method of payment based on a sliding fee scale. Work diplomatically with patients whose expectation of their payment is less than the required payment. Work with patients to fill out appropriate paperwork if eligible for insurance or other payment assistance programs. Verify insurance as needed.

Position details:  Full Time position must be able to work: Mon-Thurs 11:30 am – 8:00 pm and Fridays 8:30 am-5:00 pm (32-40 hours/wk) in a very fast paced clinic.

Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED. Proficient ability in use of computer, 2 years’ previous experience of front desk, scheduling, or clinical experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Completion of accredited Medical Assisting or nursing assistant program preferred. Bilingual applicants preferred.
